Aborto Bengali Movie

As a first-time director Arindam Sil says, Aborto is his tribute to Satyajit Ray. And for the same reason has been attributed to their characters with names like Shyamal, Charu, Hori, Runu and Duli, immortalized by Ray in several movies.

We Shyamal (Tota) as an ambitious and dynamic professional at a large corporate house. He is married to Charu (Jaya Ahsan). Shyamal get completely caught up in their own corporate culture discards relationships. He leaves his ancestral home of a luxury apartment. He aspires to become vice president of the company. And it has to compete with his colleague, Runu (Saswata).
Meanwhile, Hori comply passes Charu (Abir), one of the most popular cricketers. Hori has long been courted by Shyamal company to be their brand ambassador. Charu is attracted. Charu ignored him at first, but finally found a friend in him. Abir paper is a reflection of the Shamit Bhanja in Aranyer Din Ratri Ray.

Duli Bose (Resshmi), new secretary Shyamal, is bright, confident and charming young woman who has no qualms about sharing a bed with his boss. She has learned the hard way. Finally, the day has arrived with just minutes remaining before Shyamal can savor the fruits of their hard work. The Annual General Meeting of the company has begun discussions with the elderly through Shyamal and Runu as who would be the right candidate for the coveted post. Shyamal is restless, disturbed and distressed. The story takes a different turn from there. The film oscillates back and forth Shyamal capture rise corporate ladder and gradual distraction which is the final embodiment only in the upper part. Charu, his wife, who knows everything, but try to handle the situation in a mature manner.
No doubt, the film is an inspiration of Seemabaddha Ray - in terms of plot and character, but the similarities end there. Performance wise, Aborto boasts of some very powerful actors can offer. It's good to see again on the screen as Tota Shyamal. Bangladesh actress Jaya Ahsan with his calm and collected demeanor suits the character of Charu perfectly, while the flirty Hori Abir as does a good job. Resshmi looks the part of an executive assistant in her dressing corporate get-up and intelligent. Compared with energetic performances that the actor has been consistently delivering in recent films, Saswata is just right here.
Aborto has another Seemabaddha connect. Actor Barun Chanda, who played the lead role in the film Ray makes an appearance here as a member of the Council. The film drags in the second half trying to explain previous episodes. However, it is interesting that the director does not take a moral stand. The characters are well rounded but history goes crazy after a point and appears as a little predictable. It begins with a promise but fails to maintain the momentum until the end.
